Pakistan Calls Myanmar’s Envoy, Registers ‘Strong Protest’ Against Rohingya ViolenceIn order to register Pakistan’s protest against the ongoing violence against Rohingya Muslim community, Foreign Secretary Tahmina Janjua has summoned Myanmar’s ambassador U Win Myint to the Foreign Office on Saturday.

The foreign secretary urged the Myanmar government to take effective measures to prevent such episodes of violence in future and to reach a durable settlement of the issue along with upholding the rights of the Rohingya population.

Janjua demanded that the recommendations of the Kofi Annan Commission be implemented that include urgent and sustained action to prevent violence, maintenance of peace, fostering reconciliation, assuring unhindered humanitarian access and addressing the issue of citizenship from which the Rohingya are deprived.Pakistan Calls Myanmar’s Envoy, Registers ‘Strong Protest’ Against Rohingya Violence
